Debates of 27 Jun 2023

MR FIRST DEPUTY SPEAKER
PRAYERS 11:31 a.m.

Mr First Deputy Speaker 11:31 a.m.
Hon
Members, Corrections of Votes and
Proceedings and the Official Report.
We will start with the Votes and
Proceedings of Friday, 23rd June, 2023.
  • [No correction was made to the Votes and Proceedings of Friday, 23rd June, 2023]
  • [No correction was made to the Official Report of Thursday, 2nd March, 2023]
  • [No correction was made to the Official Report of Friday, 3rd March, 2023]
  • Mr First Deputy Speaker 11:31 a.m.
    Yes,
    Hon available Leader?
    Mr James Agalga 11:31 a.m.
    Mr Speaker, the
Hon Leader of the House said the
    Majority has outnumbered the Minority
by over 300 per cent. I am not sure that
statement is very accurate. As you can
see, Mr Kpodo is here; I am here as the
Hon available Leader, and my Hon
    Brother, Mr Vincent Oppong Asamoah,
is here with me, so our numbers are
increasing. [Laughter] — I am sure by
the time we adjourn — That said, it is
obvious that we are not properly
    constituted to transact any meaningful
Business, but before we even get to the
point of taking those objections, if it is
about the presentation of Papers, I do not
think that should cause us any injury, so
we may yield, and we do the presentation
of Papers and take it up from there.
Mr First Deputy Speaker 11:31 a.m.
    Very
well, Hon Members, I will go to the item
numbered 7 — Presentation of Papers.
    Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu 11:31 a.m.
    Mr
Speaker, may I seek your leave and
indulgence of my Hon Colleagues to
present these Papers on behalf of the
three Hon Ministers: Hon Ministers for
    Communications and Digitalisation, Local
    Government, Decentralisation and Rural
    Development, and Information — just
the three. The responsibilities of the Hon
Chairmen of the Committees could be
    stood down.
    PAPERS 11:31 a.m.

Mr First Deputy Speaker 11:41 a.m.
    Hon
Members, can I now bring proceedings
    to a close?
    Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu 11:41 a.m.
    Mr
Speaker, as I indicated, the Chairmen for
the other Committees are not herein
present, so we would stand their charges
    down.
In the face of that and given the
circumstances of today, I would like to
move that we take an adjournment until
Thursday, 29th June, 2023, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon.
    I so move.
    Mr James Agalga 11:41 a.m.
    Mr Speaker, I
second the Motion ably moved by the
    Hon Majority Leader.
Question put and Motion agreed to.
    ADJOURNMENT 11:41 a.m.
